Part time Onsite Worker - Union Local 432 Supported Advancement to Independent Living (S.A.I.L)

Position duties include (but not limited to):

• Providing support and supervision of clients residing in the SAIL apartments

• Ensuring the security of the apartment buildings, vehicles, and grounds

• Check visitors in and maintain visitor records

• Conduct and document hourly building walkthroughs and staff check-ins.

• Conduct client safety checks when required.

• Work collaboratively with co-workers and assist with client-related tasks as required.

• Reviewing video footage, addressing observed concerns

• Required documentation including case notes, incident reports etc.

• Supporting clients in exploring their culture

• Supporting clients on their path to independence

 

Qualifications:

• Minimum Gr.12

• Respectful of cultural diversity

• Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous History, culture, practices, customs and beliefs

• Excellent and proven interpersonal and supportive counselling skills

• Experience working with at-risk and/or vulnerable youth/young adults

• Ability to communicate effectively

• Ability to problem solve

• Capacity to stay calm and supportive in difficult situations

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Proficient with Microsoft Office software

• First Aid/CPR would be an asset, or training can be arranged upon hire

• Successful applicants will be subject to the Child Abuse Registry, Adult Abuse Registry and Criminal Reference Checks

• Knowles Centre will complete Prior Contact Checks

 

Wage: $17.53 - $20.29 per hour, 48hours biweekly

Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 8 am to 4 pm, Monday 4 pm to midnight
